Job Description

We are looking for a **Senior Food Scientist** to join our R&D team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Senior Food Scientist, you are an essential contributor to product development and innovation for our licensed baking and sweet treats team. Reporting to the Manager, Research & Development, you will bring a food forward and culinary focused mindset to improve or bring new products to the table. With a curiosity for consumer demand and food trends, you will work in our Center for Food Design located in Downtown Chicago to create innovations that are an asset to Conagra's baking and sweet treats portfolio. **What You'll Do:** + Develop and commercialize new baking and sweet treat products from concept to launch, including collaboration with exciting third-party licensing partners to bring innovative ideas to market. + Conduct plant trials, product testing, and support new product startups. + Create and evaluate prototypes based on consumer trends and demand. + Design and execute experiments; analyze and present results. + Operate pilot plant equipment and maintain accurate documentation. + Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment. **What You'll Bring:** + Bachelors in Food Science or related degree + 5+ years experience in leading food product design, formulation, process design, product scale-up, plant testing and commercialization + Experience with ingredient functionality and leading cost savings projects + Passionate about food science and culinary creativity, with curiosity for consumer trends and innovation in the baking and sweet treats space-combining technical expertise with a love for cooking and flavor development. + Knowledge of FDA regulations and food industry standards for quality and safety, including experience with government requirements for food processing. **Physical Requirements:** + Climb with stairs or ladders + Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended workdays to include loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions and exposure to food tasting and smells including all food allergens + Use tools, equipment, and machinery + May travel up to 30% Conagra offers relocation assistance for this role. An employee's actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees' equity.
