Position Title: Water & Wastewater Quality Action Specialist
Job Description: The Water & Wastewater Quality Action Specialist will provide free, highly-focused, on-site Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) to public water and wastewater utilities in small and rural communities all across Ohio. The primary expectation for this role is to accumulate on-site T/TA hours by traveling to utility sites and working directly with system personnel and governing officials. The Specialist will work to meet the deliverables of our grant-funded programs by assisting utilities to achieve and maintain compliance with federal regulations, including the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and the Clean Water Act (CWA).
This is a dynamic position that offers a flexible schedule and provides great experience helping communities work towards meaningful objectives. This role is ideal for those who are motivated by personal growth and are looking to apply their experience in a hands-on, consultative capacity
Experience/Education: The ideal candidate will have prior experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, or both, and is passionate about solving problems in the field.
This role is a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual new to the industry or an experienced professional (such as a retiree) who is seeking to remain active in the field with a less stressful, part-time commitment.
Additional Requirements: The Water & Wastewater Quality Action Specialist will be required to attend and participate in monthly meetings, our Annual Training Conference, and our Fall Operators Expo at which they will assist with preparations, tear-down, and any other tasks assigned to them. The EPA Water Quality Action Specialist will report to the Executive Director, and be expected to assist them as requested.
Employment & Compensation:
Part-Time, with an expected workload of 20-30 hours per week.
Starting Salary of $30,000 - $35,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience.
Reporting: The Specialist reports to the Executive Director and is required to attend and participate all monthly organizational meetings and annual events.
Potential Full-Time: For the right highly-experienced candidate, we are willing to discuss the possibility of full-time employment.
