Job Summary:


A family owned Fireworks Display and Retail Sales Corporation located within Central Ohio.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pyrotechnician to design, set up, and execute breathtaking pyrotechnic displays and special effects for a variety of events. This role requires a deep understanding of safety, a creative approach to design, and the ability to manage all aspects of a show from planning to cleanup. 

An experienced pyrotechnician should be able to handle responsibilities like designing, setting up, and executing displays, managing materials and equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Key qualifications include prior pyrotechnics experience, relevant certifications or licenses, a strong understanding of safety protocols and chemistry, and excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills. Added bonus would be if applicant had a commercial driver's license with a hazardous materials endorsement.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Show Design & Execution:  
Design, choreograph, and implement stunning pyrotechnic effects for live events, ensuring creative and safe displays. 
  • Safety & Compliance:  
Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations and company safety standards during setup, operation, and post-show activities. 
  • Equipment & Material Management:  
Safely handle, store, and transport pyrotechnic materials and equipment, including pre-show testing and troubleshooting. 
  • Team Leadership:  
Lead and mentor a team of pyrotechnicians during event setup and execution, providing clear direction and support. 
  • Technical Expertise:  
Manage the control systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain a thorough knowledge of various pyrotechnic devices and their properties. 
  • Documentation:  
Maintain detailed records of materials used, show operations, and safety inspections. 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience:  
Proven track record and significant previous experience in pyrotechnics or related special effects. 
  • Licensing/Certification:  
Valid pyrotechnician license or certification from a recognized training program. 
  • Safety Knowledge:  
Strong understanding of industry safety protocols, risk assessment, and handling of explosive materials. 
  • Technical Aptitude:  
Experience with pyrotechnic firing systems, networks, and related control equipment. 
  • Physical Stamina:  
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials safely. 
  • Other Skills:  
Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Logistics:  
A valid driver's license with a hazardous materials endorsement is often required. 
  • Age:  
Must meet state-specific age requirements, typically 21 years or older, to obtain a license.
